Overview The Clinic Dietitian II Registered works in a provider office alongside doctors and nurses, providing nutrition counseling and guidance to patients. This role primarily focuses on patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to support patients in managing their conditions through dietary interventions. Working under general supervision, this role conducts one-on-one consultations with patients to establish optimal eating patterns and educate them on proper nutrition. Responsibilities Conducts individual consultations with patients to assess their nutritional needs and develop personalized optimal eating patterns based on their medical conditions, dietary preferences, and lifestyle.Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective management of patients' dietary needs.Educates patients on the importance of proper nutrition and provides guidance on making healthy food choices.Monitors patients' progress and makes necessary adjustments to their dietary recommendations as needed.Documents patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.Provides support and guidance to patients in implementing and maintaining their meal plans.Collaborates with community resources and organizations to provide additional support and resources to patients as needed.Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and contribute to the development of comprehensive care plans.Mentors Clinic Registered Dietitian Is to answer questions and assist in their development.Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's Degree with a Master's Degree in nutrition or a related field preferred. EXPERIENCE: Required: 3 years in clinical nutrition following pre-professional experience LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: Certification as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration ANDLicensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist as issued by the North Carolina Board of Dietetics/Nutrition (NCBDN) ORcompletion of a Supervised Practice Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) as evidenced by an original Verification Statement supplied by the Program Director in a color ink other than black and dated within the previous 12 monthsPLUS a provisional license from the North Carolina Board of Dietetics/Nutrition (NCBDN) must be obtained prior to starting employment in conjunction with the original verification statement. The incumbent must become registered and licensed within 6 months of employment.BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
