The Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin has created several new Food-As-Medicine Programs, We partner with Abbott Fund, University of the Pacific, Community Medical Centers, El Concilio, and Public Health Educators to provide medically-tailored meal boxes, nutrition education, live and ZOOM cooking demonstrations to over 500 referred low income patients with diabetes. We have a similar Food RX Program for patients with high-blood pressure. We operate a Mobile Farmer's Market Program that serves 62 sites a month with fresh produce distribution at no cost, nutrition education, and live cooking demonstrations. We have a Nutrition Center on campus that holds instructional sessions on nutrition, cooking, shopping, and other topics that build healthy lifestyles.
The Emergency Food Bank has distributed food for 54 years to those residents of San Joaquin County who find themselves "in an emergency situation."
