Required: Equivalent to graduation from high school Knowledge of: 1. Methods and equipment used in serving foods in large quantities; operation, cleaning, and care of utensils and equipment. 2. Basic kitchen work, safety, and sanitary habits and dress. 3. Proper personal hygiene. 4. Oral and written communication skills. 5. English language skills. 6. Basic math skills. 7. Customer service and public relations skills. 8. Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to: 1. Follow oral and written instructions. 2. Establish and maintain cooperative relationship with those contacted during the course of work. 3. Meet food code standards. 4. Learn to operate and handle various kitchen utensils and equipment including those operated by motors. 5. Work while standing or walking for long periods of time. 6. Lift up to 25 pounds on a continuous basis; lift medium to heavy objects up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. 7. Obtain valid California driver's license.
