BASIC FUNCTION
The School Nutrition Program Manager designates, assigns, and schedules work to be done by all cafeteria personnel and is responsible for the performance and conduct of personnel while on duty.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides standards for quantity of food prepared and served.
Consults with School Nutrition Program Director regarding cafeteria operation needs.
Supervises the lunch serving line.
Supervises and helps in the major cooking tasks.
Supervises and helps in the maintenance of proper sanitary conditions including the cleaning of utensils, dishes, and equipment.
Supervises the care and proper storage of food.
Keeps the following records:
- Checks all shipments of food and supplies as per invoice.
- Keeps a monthly inventory of all food, supplies, and donated food that have been purchased and used.
- Keeps a daily record of all work hours of full-time personnel and substitutes.
- Keeps records of daily receipts, participation, attendance and cost of student meal.
- Reports the above records to the School Nutrition Program Director on a monthly basis.
Works with the School Nutrition Program Director with a weekly and/or monthly ordering list.
Works with the School Nutrition Program Director in preparing menus according to the requirements of the Federal Lunch Program.
Sells and distributes meal and milk tickets when applicable.
Collects and properly accounts for food service receipts.
Prepares receipts for daily deposit.
Prepare daily and monthly participation reports.
Attends all Manager meetings called by the School Nutrition Program Director.
Assigns duties to other School Nutrition Program personnel, but is still held ultimately responsible for over all run of the cafeteria.
Attends at least ten (10) hours of annual continuing education/training in addition to food safety training.
Performs other related cafeteria duties as assigned by the School Nutrition Program Director, Principal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to understand oral and written directions.
- Should be able to work closely with other members of the organization.
- Should have some knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in food preparation.
- Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, GED certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law and one year food service experience.
- Must complete training course for certification of beginning school nutrition program personnel as prescribed in 702 KAR 6:045.
- Must re-certify annually.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year to be established by the board of education.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy for classified personnel.
