JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Manager

REPORTS TO: Principal and CNP Director

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in institutional food service preferred
  • ServSafe Certification, required

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cooperates with the principal, CNP Director, and faculty in planning, developing, and utilizing the school food service program as a laboratory for positive student learning experiences
  • Assists in interpreting program goals and objectives to students, parents, and the community
  • Maintains effective control over financial operations, personnel, inventory, food production, work schedules, purchasing, commodities, and equipment
  • Ensures menus and portion sizes meet USDA meal pattern requirements for breakfast, lunch, and snack programs (as applicable)
  • Establishes and maintains security control procedures for CNP funds, food, supplies, and equipment
  • Maintains accurate financial, participation, and food production records
  • Ensures sanitary operation in compliance with Alabama Department of Public Health regulations
  • Supports and follows Opelika City Board of Education policies and procedures
  • Adheres to established purchasing procedures and the Alabama Bid Law
  • Supervises and trains employees in food production, equipment use and care, serving procedures, sanitation, and facility maintenance
  • Prepares and posts daily written work schedules, including menus and staff assignments
  • Enforces CNP dress standards and promotes employee compliance
  • Encourages and participates in professional growth and development for staff
  • Demonstrates the physical and mental capability to manage a CNP operation
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Performs other duties related to the CNP as assigned by the principal (e.g., banquets, receptions)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Nine (9) month contract (187 days).

SALARY

  • Salary will be determined according to the approved salary schedule and based on verified experience and credentials.

EVALUATION

  • Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The employee must possess sufficient physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and visual acuity to perform essential functions.
