    Salary Information:
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • Two years of experience in preparing foods in a large scale food service operation
    • Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Successful completion of Food Services Unit I-VI training courses.
    • Demonstrates the tact to deal amicably and effectively with people.
    • Possesses skills to carry out a large-scale nutrition services program.
    • Possesses leadership skills required to effectively direct subordinates while maintaining a positive working environment.
    • Is physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds 50 feet.
    • Possesses computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, e-mail, internet, and inventory program.
    • Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of others.
    • Maintains inventory records and prepares inventory reports utilizing a computerized program.
    • Possesses appropriate financial management and accounting skills.

    Primary Duties:

    • Works with principal and nutrition services supervisor to ensure nutritious, high qualified food is available to students and staff in the school.
    • Knows and follows law and regulations relating to the preparation, serving and storing of food.
    • Ensures that local, state, and federal policies are maintained in the cafeteria.
    • Able to carry-out a large-scale food service program.
    • Maintains a professional alertness to and knowledge of new developments in the area of responsibility.
    • Follows district procedures in collecting monies for student and staff accounts and for charging special refreshments.
    • Represents the school and the school district in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
    • Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
    • Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Indian River School District as established by the Board of Education and the superintendent.
