POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for:
Perform WIC certifications, prescribing food packages, and providing nutrition and breastfeeding education for WIC participants meets the qualifications for a Competent Professional Authority (CPA) per USDA and Nutrition Services Standards.

- Develop and document individual care plans for high-risk participants, as follows:
- Prescribe specialized food packages or offer nutrition tailoring, as appropriate such as packages that are less than the maximum monthly allowances or substitutions due to a food allergy or medical condition.
- Medically Prescribe Formula to participants.
- Coordinate nutrition intervention, including breastfeeding support that is responsive to the identified needs/interests of high-risk participants.
- Provide Individual high-risk counseling that provides follow up for their high-risk condition.
- Document individual high-risk care plan documented in the participant's record.
- Document referrals and conduct appropriate follow-up on referrals to high-risk participants.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a related field
- Must have current license as a Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN)
- Hold valid and current registration with the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and/or the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
