Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian and Obesity Medicine role directs and coordinates nutritional care to patients in assigned clinical areas. Responsible for performing nutritional assessments, developing, and implementing care plans, educating patients, and communicating with providers and health team members. This role functions as a technical resource for nutrition support services in the development of clinical nutrition research studies, proposals and protocols.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education:Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics/Nutritional Sciences from an accredited college or university required. Must hold Clinical Nutrition Support Clinician credential within 18 months of start date or possess a Master's Degree.
- License/Certifications:Current applicable state(s) license as a Dietitian required. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification within 18 months of start date if not already certified. Registration by the American Dietetic Association required.
- Experience: Three years of experience as a Registered Dietitian (RD) conducting nutritional assessments and developing treatment plans for acute care inpatients and outpatients preferred.
- Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Maintenance of above credential for a minimum of two years by the time of application. Documentation of 2000 hours of specialty practice experience in obesity and weight management while holding one of the aforementioned credentials within the past five years
