THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is currently seeking Food Service Worker 1s to join our dietary team at Norristown State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Food Service Worker 1, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, interacting with a diverse range of individuals, including consumers, health care professionals, and other food service workers. Your role will involve preparing and serving food for various hospital functions and ensuring that dietary needs are met for all consumers. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and snack areas, as well as preparing simple items such as sandwiches. Your work will play a crucial role in ensuring that consumers receive high-quality and nutritious meals during their stay at the hospital.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Rotating off duty days, working every other weekend and holidays as assigned
Overtime as operationally necessary
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
