Follow proper sanitation guidelines. Provide customer service. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Required: High School graduate or equivalent experience. Possess Food Handler's Permit on first day of employment. Job Title: CLINICAL NUTRITION ASSISTANT I Company: The Methodist Health System Location: Houston, TX Description: This position has many diverse functions, which include educating patients on one (1) of three (3) dining services programs (Room Service, Bedside Menu Entry, and Paper Menus). For units on room service, gives the patient the Room Service packet specific to their physician diet order and assist patients with meal selections and order placing as needed. Reviews selections using hand-held technology (BME) with patients on assigned units. Distributes and collects paper menus on assigned units only. Delivers meal trays to the patient checking for accuracy and tray presentation as well as the delivery of between meal snacks, floor stock, fruit baskets and birthday cakes for all assigned units. Assists patients with any additional food requirements to insure a positive experience. Completes on I/O form the % of liquid consumed and completes calorie counts when ordered. Retrieves trays and places on rack for return to main kitchen. Functions as part of the nursing unit team in all aspects relating to patient meal service. Clerical duties include documentation of each tray when delivered on the Room Service Round sheet and proper documentation of patients not receiving meals to insure all patients are identified for each meal. Functions independently in the provision of meals to patients and/or nursing. In the absence of the Supervisor, assists and accommodates patients with information, directions and problems. Must possess good communication skills and able to work in a fast paced environment. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Hotel, hospitality experience preferred but not required.
