Assists in the development of the state plan and WIC program policies and procedures. Maintains primary responsibility for the areas of certification and program monitoring.
Provides technical assistance to local agencies to ensure compliance with federal regulations and ITCA policies.
Works with CDC, ITCA WIC staff and local agencies to ensure the Pregnancy and Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance Systems are reporting accurate data to CDC. Works with the Epidemiology Center staff in data analysis and reporting. Leads the reporting and dissemination of data to local agencies and ITCA staff.
Monitors local WIC agencies to ensure compliance with regulations, writes reports of findings and tracks the documentation sent and received to ensure compliance with requirements.
Serves as the liaison between ITCA and the contractor(s) to complete the design, development, and implementation of system enhancements for the WIC automation system according to federal guidelines. Ensures that the contractor(s) completes work as indicated in the agreement and in a timely manner.
Coordinates the work of the WIC team to ensure completion of IS projects by assigning and following up on tasks, holding regular meetings, and keeping staff informed of project status and timelines.
Responsible for overseeing the testing of software to ensure that it meets contract specifications and functions. Tracks and reports problems to contractor, ensures problems are corrected and maintains documentation of this process.
Develops and maintains training and resource materials for the WIC automation system. Responsible for training of staff and scheduling rollout of new versions of the applications to clinic sites.
Recommends projects and programs to the WIC Director. Solicits grant funds and completes grant applications as directed.
Maintains the ITCA WIC website to ensure that information is accurate and up-to- date.
Completes reports and other documents.
